It's finally here. I know it's not July 11th yet, but since the iPhone 2.0 software has been released into the wild, I figured we might as well launch the finished product and give it some time to marinate.

Since the launch of Sciphone on July 31st, 2007 we've worked hard to become the best source for iPhone and iPod touch wallpapers on the Internet. A few months later, Sciphone clones were popping up left and right, but none of them could step up to our level of quality and commitment. Now, a year later, alongside the iPhone 3G launch, we're raising the bar once again with the introduction of the mobile.sciphone platform.

This new web application marries immaculate programming and stunning design. We are quite proud of our creation, and we think you will enjoy browsing and downloading our wallpapers from your iPhone and iPod touch. All you need is the iPhone 2.0 software update, and the following web address...

Definitely. I've also submitted our web application to Apple, so hopefully we'll get some extra exposure for the mobile platform.

you guys probably have noticed the mobile.sciphone banner popping up throughout the site... we're really trying to push the new platform, and so far we've had over 1500+ people visit the site since launch!

i pretty much told everyone that i kno bout it.. n they were really impressed by the whole download right off the iphone feature.... nice stuff man.. and when is the app gonna show up on the appstore?

The Sciphone mobile app will not be showing up on Apple's App Store, as it is not a natively-running app. It is a webapp that requires a connection to the internet via the mobile Safari browser to pull its content from the main site. However, Sunny has submitted it to Apple's Webapps page, and I guess we're just waiting to see if it is approved and posted there in the next few days.

I'm also in touch with a few iPhone Developers in talks of releasing a port of the application on the App Store in the near future, so stay tuned

Great launch for the mobile platform, it's gaining popularity quite quickly. ( still no signs of it on the Apple Web Application page... hopefully soon )
